Who operates Money Mileposts

Money Mileposts is provided by Michael Gibby, doing business as Sidetrack Labs. This policy covers the iPhone, iPhone Duo, and Mac apps and their support websites.

Local financial planning

Without family sharing, entered financial information is kept in the app's local storage. This includes account and institution names, balances, contributions, savings goals, property and mortgage amounts, debts, income, expenses, snapshots, notes, birth month and year, household name, planning region, currency, and retirement assumptions. The app does not connect to banks or brokerages and does not request their login credentials.

Optional accounts and family sync

If you create an account, Supabase processes your email address, authentication credentials, assigned user ID, and session information to authenticate you and provide account recovery. If you create or join a household, the service stores the household name, membership and invitation records, and the entered financial plan described above. Synced information is associated with your account and household and is available to members of that household.

We use this information to provide authentication, household sharing, synchronization, account recovery, and service security. Family sync is optional. Signing out stops authenticated sync on that device; it does not by itself delete information already stored in the cloud. Core local planning tools remain available without an account.

Service providers and sharing

Supabase provides authentication and database hosting for optional cloud features. See Supabase's privacy policy. Authorized household members can access the shared household plan. Service providers may process technical and security information needed to operate their services. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or to protect the service. We do not sell or rent your personal financial information or share it with advertising networks.

Optional on-device assistance

On supported devices, Money Mileposts uses Apple's on-device Foundation Models framework for optional questions and draft changes. The app supplies relevant entered information to the local model. It does not send these prompts to a developer-operated AI server or a third-party cloud AI service. Proposed financial changes require your review and confirmation. Availability depends on device capabilities and system settings.

Backups and device services

You can export or import a portable backup. Exported files may contain your financial information; protect them and choose carefully where to save or share them. We do not receive a backup merely because you export it. Your device, operating-system backup service, storage provider, and email provider operate under their own policies.

Advertising, analytics, and support

The app does not include third-party advertising or behavioral analytics SDKs, and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites for advertising. If you contact support, we receive your email address and the information you choose to send, and use it to respond and maintain support records. Do not send passwords, bank account numbers, or other unnecessary sensitive information.

Website information

These support pages do not use advertising trackers or analytics cookies. Our hosting provider may process standard server logs, including IP address, browser type, requested page, and time, to deliver and protect the websites.

Your choices, retention, and deletion

You can edit your plan and manage snapshots in the app, export a backup, sign out of cloud sharing, or use local planning without an account. To request deletion of your cloud account, use the account-deletion control in the family-sharing screen. For assistance deleting account information, household information, or support correspondence, contact us below. Deleting the app removes its local app storage but does not automatically delete cloud records, exported backups, or copies held by other household members.

We retain account and synced household information as needed to provide the features you enable, until removed through available deletion controls or a verified deletion request, subject to legal and security requirements. Household records shared with other members and copies in service-provider backups may require separate handling. We do not promise that signing out or deleting one local app erases all shared copies.

Children

Money Mileposts is intended for personal financial planning and is not directed to children under 13. Do not submit a child's personal information through support.
